| | So I was perusing CNN's online headlines today, and saw this headline: Chinese rocket blasts off to moon. Interesting, huh? Check out this paragraph:
The launch comes just weeks after China's regional rival Japan put a
probe into orbit around the moon in a big leap forward for Asia's
undeclared space race. India is likely to join the regional rivalry
soon, with plans to send its own lunar probe into space in April.
For some reason, that just struck me as really funny. It's like some strange time warp. Almost 40 years ago, the US, in a "space race", lands on the moon. Now all of a sudden, Asia is having a "space race" to the moon? That is soooo 1960's! ;) |
